Job Overview

Looking for a Family Wellness Chiropractic Assistant who is energetic, hardworking, loves people and cares about their health. Fast growing practice in paradise!

Under the general direction of the Chiropractor, responsible for patient outreach, scheduling patients, managing patient files, submitting bills, collecting monies and ensuring authorization due for services rendered. Performs a variety of duties including data entry, word processing, creating and maintaining files, assembling and distributing required data for reports and projects.

Performs all aspects of billing duties:
Reviews accounts and applies billing knowledge
Verifies doctor’s orders are received prior to billing.
Verifies electronic claim submission
Print and send bills and statements.

Performs all aspects of collections:
Researches insurance coverage.
Reconciles unpaid accounts on a monthly basis.
Reconciles appropriate write-off/contractual adjustments.
Communicates with clients and third party payers via telephone and in writing.
Provides appropriate documentation to Chiropractor to write-off

Obtain insurance authorization for existing patients:
Prepares and reviews various payer reports from software systems as directed.
Determines which patients require further authorization.
Gather information to prepare necessary authorization documents.
Obtain authorization forms from doctors and authorized visits from insurance companies and/or others.
Enter insurance/ authorization data in the software system.
Informs providers when authorization is obtained.

Verifies health insurance claims numbers and benefit coverages:
Verifies correct primary/secondary health insurance coverages.
Verifies homecare and medical supplies coverage.
Ensures that all necessary authorization is received or initiated.
Notifies Chiropractor of authorizations are received and/or further follow up needed.
Enter appropriate insurance benefit data in the computer system of insurance benefit.

Posts payments to the patient's account and balances Cash Receipt Posting against the Bank's Statement on a monthly basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Background in the following areas:
Proficient with Mac and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to learn new tasks quickly and retain information.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must be self-directed and work well under tight deadlines.
Must be able to operate office equipment including computer, calculator, copier, fax and shredder.
Experience in a healthcare environment.
Ability to produce spreadsheets and correspondence using Sheets (Mac), Microsoft Excel and Word.
Familiarity with EHR.
Familiarity with medical terminology (CPT, ICD-10, HCPC).
Demonstrate initiative and handle tasks without constant supervision.

Start immediately. Ideal candidates will have strong writing, communication, and computer skills and ability to multitask. Position includes assisting with administrative tasks for chiropractic cases, so knowledge of medical terminology is helpful. Must be able to meet strict deadlines and have strong written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the front desk
- Verify patient information and update records as necessary
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
- Assist with patient intake and registration
- Provide excellent customer service to patients

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical or healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and physiology is a plus
- Familiarity with patient assessment and patient service procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients. The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team.

Please note that this is not a remote position. The Front Desk Agent will be required to work on-site at our facility.
