Kaiser seeks an experienced Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer to provide diagnostic ultrasound services in a hospital setting.
Job Summary:
This position involves performing routine, emergent, and portable ultrasound examinations on patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performing high-quality ultrasound exams using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics
- Communicating effectively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals
- Assisting patients and transporting them to examination rooms
- Exam review, file management, restocking supplies, cleaning, and quality assurance functions
Basic Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonography program or 2 years of previous experience in ultrasound imaging
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
License, Certification, Registration:
The ideal candidate must hold the following certifications:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- Sonography Technologist License (Oregon)
- Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire
Additional Requirements:
- Daily use of diagnostic equipment, imaging, and healthcare computer systems
- Demonstrating customer-focused service skills
- Ability to use and apply excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience performing ultrasound exams, preferably within the last three years
- Vascular ultrasonography experience preferred
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) ARDMS certification
