Banquet Chef

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions delivers a waterpark resort and conference experience all under one roof. We are inviting you to apply for the open Banquet Chef position. In this position, you will support and assist the Executive Chef in the oversight of the banquet kitchen operation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in the preparation of food items for all Banquet meals, hiring, training, scheduling, and directing Banquet culinary staff; visually inspecting all food products to be served to ensure they all meet the quality standards set out by departmental and resort management.  He/she is also responsible for ensuring cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the kitchen, and storage areas while minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio. 

Weekends, evenings and holiday availability is a must  

Required Skills 

• We do require that you have a background, with experience consisting of five years' progressive culinary, three years of management, banquets, and have been part of a hotel/resort with over 500 rooms in size. 

• Basic knowledge of P&L, food cost/inventory management, recipe costing, kitchen sanitation, and food safety regulations.  

Nice to Haves  

• Culinary Arts Degree 

• Bi-lingual, Spanish and English speaking. 

• Experience adding centerpieces for upscale presentation that may include carved and molded ice or fruits.
