This leadership position oversees the daily operations of the resort, driving results in employee retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and profitability. As an Assistant General Manager, you will collaborate with the Resort General Manager to provide strategic guidance and direction to the hotel management team, focusing on delivering exceptional quality standards and services.
You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across five key departments: Food & Beverage, Waterpark, Rooms, Retail, and Spa Kalahari. Effective communication is crucial when working with guests, clients, senior management, corporate directors, and ownership.
To excel in this role, you must possess comprehensive knowledge of hotel/resort operations, including high-volume dining, concessions, culinary, hotel/resort sales and marketing, rooms management, housekeeping, laundry, spa, maintenance, convention center services, and theme or water parks.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage in a diverse environment, prioritizing client and customer services, entrepreneurship, and business growth. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and P&L knowledge are essential, while bi-lingual candidates are preferred. A bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, finance, or a related field is required.
