What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resort Operations Manager position at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions?
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions delivers a unique waterpark resort and conference experience all under one roof. The authentically African-inspired resort is home to America's largest indoor waterparks and features well-appointed guest rooms, a full-service spa, a fun-filled family entertainment center, signature restaurants, unique retail shops, and a state-of-the-art convention center.
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the resort to achieve objectives in employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and profitability. You will be responsible for assisting the Resort General Manager in providing overall leadership, guidance, and direction to the hotel management team as it strives to provide the highest quality standards and services.
You will ensure that the Resort complies with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Your focus will be tied to five major departments, including Food & Beverage, Waterpark, Rooms, Retail, and Spa Kalahari. You must have excellent communication skills to work effectively with guests, clients, senior management, corporate directors, and ownership.
To succeed in this role, you will need extensive knowledge of hotel/resort operations such as high-volume dining, concessions, culinary, hotel/resort sales and marketing, rooms management, housekeeping, laundry, spa, maintenance, convention center services, and theme or water parks.
Additionally, you will require the ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship, and building and growing a strong business. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and P&L knowledge are also essential. Bi-lingual candidates are preferred.
