What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Boys Soccer Coach position at Kalama School District?
- Provides instruction to students in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport
- Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises
- Assesses students' skills, monitors students during competition and practice
- Provides determining game strategy
- Follows established procedures in the event of an injury
- Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials and spectators
- Supervises and maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security
- Distributes and collects equipment, supplies and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach
- Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times
- Participates in special activities to include parent's night, banquets,, award nights, and pep assemblies
- Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records
- Models non discriminatory practices in all activities
- Ensure fields are playable for both practices and games. This will often require communication with the Athletic Director
- Must complete my247 and all WIAA trainings through FinalForms and SafeSchools through the district prior to the beginning of the sport's season
- Per WIAA - minimum age for head coach is 21 years of age, assistant coach is 19 years of age

- High School diploma or GED
- Previous Coaching experience preferred
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to communicate with high school students, parents, coaches and staff
- CPR/First Aid card
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules. Ability to speak effectively to administration, staff, students and parents.
- Skills in reading, understanding and following safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with students and staff.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of District requirements and Board policies
- Ability to work independently and to communicate proactively
