GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to provide maintenance, repair, and coordination of airfield lighting systems and air vehicle equipment. Responsible for snow and ice removal, wildlife hazards, and overseeing construction projects in coordination with contractors. Guides inspections to ensure compliance of airfield lighting and electrical systems. Ensures the functioning of specific equipment for aviation staff and passengers, namely airfield navigational aids and hanger boarding bridges. Interacts with contracted vendors and reports to airport administration on needed improvements of airfield functionalities. Delivers technical recommendations for possible optimizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs seasonal grounds keeping, such as removing snow and ice during the winter and mowing, trimming, and landscaping during the summer.
- Maintains cleanliness of airport entrance facilities, parking lots, green spaces, and other common areas.
- Completes preventative maintenance and minor repairs to vehicles, equipment, and other airport structures.
- Complies with safety standards and airport procedures.
- Helps ensure the safety of the airfield and surrounding property.
- Reports facility maintenance issues to the appropriate superiors.
- Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
- 1 to 3 years of related work experience in landscaping and/or grounds keeping
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
