Kalibri Labs, a big data and analytics firm in the hospitality industry, is seeking a Business Insights Manager to support our Data Solutions team. The Data Solutions team oversees all aspects of data fulfillment needs for Customers and Prospects. This role will work cross-functionally with Enterprise Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Leadership to ensure that Kalibri Labs provides high quality data insights that drive meaningful value for our customers and the hotel industry.
The Business Insights Manager will assist with data synthesis, ad-hoc analysis, custom reports, prep for client meetings and data visualizations for industry presentations. The Business Insights Manager may also contribute to ongoing marketing campaigns to help improve brand awareness of Kalibri Labs and position the company as a thought leader in the industry.
The ideal candidate possesses hospitality industry market expertise, strong communication skills, and a proven record of creating strategic analytic content for various audiences.
Primary Responsibilities
Client-Facing: Participate in strategic, senior level client-facing meetings as a subject matter expert around industry trends, detailed metrics, Kalibri Labs data solutions, and deliverables for Enterprise clients.
Data Storytelling: Will own presentations for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for Kalibri’s Enterprise clients and Ad Hoc analysis for customers. Become an expert on how to use Kalibri Labs unique dataset to answer any question from a hotel brand, management company, real estate investor, industry analyst, etc. Can pull together compelling data stories that communicate value, actionable insights, that ultimately show and prove the value of Kalibri’s data and expertise to customers, resulting in high customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion across clients
Research & Development: Evolve our portfolio of standard data visualizations as needed in support of client visits, industry meetings and presentations. Ensure that Kalibri Labs stays on the cutting edge of industry trends.
Cross Functional Teamwork: This role will work closely with our data platform, data solutions, account management, and senior leadership to develop strategic visions and insights for our customers using our data. Will be ultimately responsible for client deliverables but will need to manage across and up to manage internal timelines, client expectations and delivery dates.
Secondary Responsibilities
Industry Analysis & Commentary: Responsible for producing data in support of monthly industry performance analysis. Includes data-driven commentary and thought leadership on U.S. Hotel Industry performance, drivers and key indicators. Also includes customized commentary tailored to each Enterprise client’s areas of interest and specific use cases.
Marketing Support: Compose regular blog posts or articles highlighting market trends and emphasizing our key differentiators.
Data Strategy: Help inform and influence priorities for the Data and Product teams based on areas with a large impact to Enterprise and Industry data clients.
Ideal Background
Big Five or similar consulting background (Deloitte, Accenture, etc) in their Hospitality Sector.
Tired of the enormous workload of consulting, wants to enter “into tech” but doesn’t know how to (late twenties/early thirties)
Excellent and professional communication skills; amazing at putting together compelling presentations telling stories and value through data (ROI, Case Studies, Value-Based Messaging using data)
Analytical bent: strong analysis, detail oriented in the data, understands complex data and can make sense of it
Self- Starter and bias towards action: willing to dive in and get messy with the data; not afraid to ask for help, work cross functionally across teams, even confront/debate our data practices and how we approach things in order to really understand the data (doesn’t sit in analysis paralysis, which can typically happen with heavy analytical roles like this)
Skills & Requirements
Experience with Strategic presentations showing insight and value
Advanced to Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, experience building dynamic and scalable workbooks, and advanced visualization techniques)
Advanced knowledge of Powerpoint, including the ability to distill complex data into straightforward insights
Intermediate experience with SQL (or beginner level with ability to learn quickly)
Experience with BI tools (Looker) preferred
Excellent problem solving, analytical and data visualization skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Bachelors degree in finance, hotel management, business, or related field
7 experience in an analytics-focused role, preferably in the hospitality industry

All positions are fully remote.
We cover 75% of the cost of medical insurance premiums for employees & their dependents with three medical plans through Blue Cross, Blue Shield.

We provide a 50% 401k match of the first 6% of the employee's contribution (for a max of 3%).

All new hires receive a $250 allowance to help them set up their home office.
Compensation Range: $150K - $175K
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
