Job Description
Job Title: Lead Maintenance Training Instructor/Developer
Department: Training Dept.
Reports to: Maintenance Training Supervisor
BASIC FUNCTION:
Mentor and guide Instructor/Developers. Design, develop, and instruct training courses whether instructor lead, computer based, web based, or virtual in the following subject/topic areas: General Topics, Safety and OSHA related subjects, Company Policies & Procedures, Airframe, Powerplant, and Avionics Systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead and direct subordinate crew members in the performance of tasks. Ensure satisfactory productivity and work quality.
2. Coordinate with Supervisor on scheduling, assignment of daily job tasks, projects, and deadlines.
3. Mentor Instructor/Developers through OJT completion and professional development as assigned by the Maintenance Training Supervisor.
4. Work with Instructor/Developers to provide them with necessary technical information, guidance, images, or other data necessary for computer based or web based training development.
5. Evaluate Instructor/Developers as assigned. Provide feedback and report to the Maintenance Training Supervisor.
6. Assist other Instructor/Developers with training related problems.
7. Develop courses using the standardized course development process.
8. Document and revise courses per standardized documentation process.
9. Ensure the training course materials, for which they are responsible, are available, current, and updated.
10. Be fully prepared (course materials, dress, etc.) to teach all assigned/scheduled classes.
11. Ensure computerized training data (presentations, student handouts, etc.) are current and organized per department standard and available when needed for class.
12. Write instructional materials to meet objectives, including interactive courseware, instructor and student materials, training aids, handouts for classroom and hands-on training sessions, application exercises, presentation materials, and other training support tools and documentation.
13. Utilize a variety of training methodologies for presentation and delivery.
14. Submit student evaluations, attendance forms, tracking and information forms, informal assessments, and other required student related documents for 100% of assigned students in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
15. Complete and submit 100% of department forms (training documents, timesheets, professional development forms, materials/supplies tracking forms, expense reports, and other required staff-related documents) accurately and in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
16. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations.
17. Keep immediate supervisor well informed of all activities, results of efforts, and problems identified/potential problems. Recommend corrective actions to immediate supervisor.
18. Respect confidentiality in discussing staff, students, and company matters. Maintain confidentiality of personnel related information.
19. Immediately notify the Maintenance Training Supervisor of any and all support services that students may need.
20. Perform any other additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Training Supervisor or Manager.
