As a Sr Financial Analyst at Kaman Precision Products in Middletown, CT, you will be a key part of our outstanding Finance team. We are looking for candidates who embody our core values: Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Creativity, and Honor.
Work under the general direction of the Finance Director in executing a wide range of responsibilities, including financial support and control of moderate to complex programs within the business. Follow standard procedures and processes within the organization. Maintain a continuous improvement and learning mindset. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for assigned programs, including establishing the work breakdown structure, baseline budgets, and quarterly EACs (Estimates at Completion).
- Monitor program cost, perform variance analysis, and prepare reports to ensure contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
- Review and track program billings (progress bills, performance-based billings, cost type vouchers, delivery invoices).
- Provide monthly analysis of financial results comparing actual performance to budgets and forecasts.
- Support Program Manager and other functional areas, as needed. Participate in IPTs (Integrated Project Team).
- Identify problem areas with potential impact to financial performance, develop and provide corrective action recommendations to management in a timely manner.
- Assist Finance Director, as needed, with maintaining financial models to support monthly close and forecasting key drivers to support the annual plan and quarterly forecast updates.
- Ensure timely submission of all reports required by customers or senior management. Identify and communicate problems promptly and recommend corrective action. Interface effectively with management, customers, and auditors.
- Maintain proficiency in required software applications used within the span of responsibilities. Strong Excel skills required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related business field.
- 5 - 7 years of related experience in manufacturing or aerospace/government required.
- Broad knowledge of cost accounting/control functions, estimating techniques and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of aerospace or manufacturing.
- Good interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with internal and external business partners. Proficient verbal and written communication skills needed.
- Possesses strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to use good judgement and discretion; able to ask questions and raise issues/concerns constructively and in a timely manner.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
