We are seeking Director Supply Chain Management to join our team! The Supply Chain Director will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain management and materials planning for KAMAX's fastener manufacturing operations in Lapeer, MI.
Job Summary:
Director, Supply Chain Management leads the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function and is responsible for the development and continuous improvement of (inter)-regional supply chains from supplier through factories to customers
Essential Functions:
- Set strategic direction and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Define standardized processes for categories, supplier development, and plant logistics.
- Actively enforce continuous improvement initiatives based on guidance from 'lead RBU' adapted to regional requirements e.g., standards, methods, tools.
- Monitor operations and execution in Region and operating plants.
- Drive strategic sourcing, sustaining and developing a future-oriented supply base and fostering supplier enabled innovations.
- Drive Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning; ensuring the resources (People, Equipment, Processes and Materials) are available at the right time and amount.
- Promote strong partnerships between the manufacturing departments, suppliers, and outside service providers to ensure a systematic materials strategy.
- Work diligently to optimize regular freight costs and minimize premium freight costs.
- Continuously improves management practices to optimize the materials management system and defines continuity plans to prevent disruption in production.
- Leads the following teams: Customer Fulfillment, Production Planning, Outside Service Provider Planning, Purchasing, Shipping/Warehouse, Inventory, and Supply Chain Engineering.
- Make use of data analytics to shape data-informed decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- 5 years of Supply Chain or Logistics experience.
- 3 years of experience in a similar management role.
- Executive-level presentation skills, including forward-looking indicators.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Lives within a commutable distance to Lapeer, Michigan or able to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards.
- Experience with EDI integration.
- Can delegate and develop others.
- Subject matter expertise in materials management, logistics, and production planning.
- Able to negotiate and influence.
- Combines strong strategic skills with an eye for detail and willingness to be hands-on.

- Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents – if in plant
- Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant
