Kamehameha Schools is hiring a Strategic Analyst III for the Workforce Systems team of our Strategy & Transformation Group. This role is responsible for data collection, analysis and reporting. Working with both workforce and educational data. If you are an experienced Data Analyst with the ability to analyze data through a business lens, have a Project Management approach to problem solving and have the skill set to tell the story behind the data, this position is for you! This is a Hybrid position which provides work from home flexibility on an approval basis. Job Summary Leads and influences organizational goals and strategies by providing data, information, analysis, evaluation, and reporting services to inform and influence significant organizational decisions. Initiates and leads multiple project teams on various strategic projects and key initiatives through business analysis. Essential Responsibilities Decision Support, Research and Data/Information Analysis Collects, synthesizes, analyzes, and communicates data and information to support problem solving, inform decision making and formulate recommendations at the enterprise level. Oversees the development of decision support methodologies, models, and tools. Leads and performs extensive research and business/data analyses and initiates complex queries to inform recommendations and workable solutions. Leads and performs multiple highly complex qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis efforts. Oversees the selection and adaptation of appropriate data collection tools and methodologies from established instruments and approaches. Manages the organization and implementation of data collection projects. Excellent problem solver and solution designer. Uses data to propose and support recommendations to address strategic, business and education-focused problems. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Initiates needs assessments and implements complex stand-alone research and evaluation projects. Establishes, interprets and analyzes project requirements for all division projects with S&I Manager(s). Provides background and context for project design and eventual interpretation of findings. Implements and models best-practice approaches. Initiates and communicates work with other departments and/or external agencies for the purpose of sharing information, maximizing resource use. Ensures feasibility within project constraints and consistency with the organizational strategy and group tactical plans. Initiates and leads multiple concurrent medium to large evaluation projects and sets direction for evaluation reports; develops conclusions to provide accurate support for both formal and ad hoc presentations and discussions. Leads the development and dissemination of comprehensive, continuing programs for research, evaluation, and management reporting in support of the organization's strategic plan and supporting activities. Ensures understanding of stakeholder needs and interests in order to produce reports of findings for individual projects using standard best practices. Enterprise-level Strategy Development and Implementation Strategic Alignment – Contributes to the development and implementation of KS strategies across multiple business lines (Education, Community Engagement & Support) to ensure the alignment of group/divisional activities with the organization's mission, vision and enterprise-level goals & strategies. Supports design, selection, management, and implementation of KS' enterprise portfolio. Using project management, analysis and business process design skills, plan, deliver on and lead critical strategic initiatives that have enterprise implications with high-quality results and within set parameters. Leads multiple, concurrent complex projects multidisciplinary teams(s) ensuring projects are feasible within project constraints and are consistent with the organization's strategy and tactical plans. Change Management – Manages and supports unit leadership and teams through changes associated with specific organizational initiatives and projects. Deals effectively and inspires others to readily adjust to change and ambiguity. Innovation – Initiates design and facilitation of innovative frameworks, approaches, and models to assess organization opportunities for transformational change. Leadership and Management Leads, manages, and motivates teams to higher levels of performance through clear expectations, development, creative problem solving, prioritizing, and delegation. Ability to monitor and maintain project team performance while dealing with high-pressure deliverables and deadlines. Ability to influence others through setting of shared goals, communication, data sharing and transparency. A good negotiator who is able to cultivate and manage relationships with all team members. Fosters and maintains a high-performance environment based on teamwork, commitment, accountability, cooperation, collaboration, and direct, timely feedback. Serves as mentor to junior staff and other team members. Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for requirements listed. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Education, Social Science or related fields. 5 or more years of related experience and progressive responsibility in management consulting, analysis, research, evaluation or related field, including a minimum of 4 years of research, analysis, evaluation, project management or related experience. Team Lead, Functional Lead, or similar experience a plus. Superior problem solving and computer skills (e.g. Excel and modeling software/database). Proven quantitative and/or qualitative research, analysis and evaluation skills and expert knowledge of associated principles, practices, and procedures. Familiarity with relevant national databases, ongoing studies, and technical trends. Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize and execute on complex, multiple, simultaneous projects and meet established deadlines. Superior ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and to implement solutions to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Ability to shape and improve processes based on thorough understanding of common causes/effects impacting a process. Ability to analyze and conceptualize, and to work independently across various groups/divisions with a high degree of accuracy and with highly confidential information. Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, management and supervision skills to work effectively with management and staff at various levels in the organization. Ability to be flexible and implement new systems and processes as required. Expert working knowledge of and experience in automating office processes using standard office desktop applications. Exceptional emotional quotient. Superior ability to think systemically and critically and to effectively share ideas with S&I and with other groups/divisions. Ability to travel to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business. Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed to meet goals and objectives. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in an indigenous, education or nonprofit setting. Knowledge of Hawaiian culture, history and/or language. Expertise in SAS. Advanced educational degree preferred. Licenses and/or certifications in respective fields of related work (e.g. PMP, IIBA or ASQ certification). Physical Requirements Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear. Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully. Working Conditions This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business. Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces. Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours.
