The full range for this position is $67,90-$94,986.The Engineering Specialist is responsible for completing non-routine work related to engineering design and construction work using technical knowledge of work areas. Responsibilities may include serving as a lead inspector on projects; interpreting construction and design plans; providing technical leadership; performing inspections of construction; acting as a liaison to the public; ensuring compliance; and creating drafts and maps using AutoCAD.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Generates, reviews, and updates drafts, maps, illustrations, plans, models, charts, and blueprints related, but not limited, to roadways, bridges, and water conveyance and retention systems.Serves as a lead inspector on projects to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; assesses progress; approves payments; tracks inventory; approves minor modifications to plans; maintains related records of activities.Prepares, maintains, and updates reports, letters, and other documents; sends out documents to relevant stakeholders, to facilitate project operations and processes, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.Prepares, processes, and conducts surveys to facilitate project operations, ensuring information consistency and accuracy.Supervises contractors and other staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; calculating pay; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.Provides information to property owners and other stakeholders, and acts as a liaison to the public, to facilitate project operations.Other duties may include hauling gravel and removing snow by operating and maintaining tandem trucks.
