The full range for this position is $67,90-$94,986.The Engineering Specialist is tasked with performing non-routine engineering design and construction-related duties, utilizing advanced technical knowledge in specialized work areas. This role may include responsibilities such as serving as a lead inspector on projects, interpreting construction and design plans, providing technical guidance, overseeing construction inspections, acting as a liaison to the public, ensuring regulatory compliance, and generating drafts and maps using AutoCAD.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Generate, review, and update drafts, maps, illustrations, plans, models, charts, and blueprints for projects related to roadways, bridges, and water conveyance and retention systems.Act as a lead inspector on projects to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; monitor project progress, approve payments, track inventory, and authorize minor plan modifications; maintain accurate records of all activities.Prepare, update, and distribute reports, letters, and other documentation to relevant stakeholders to facilitate project operations and ensure adherence to laws and regulations.Conduct surveys and process data to support project operations, ensuring consistency and accuracy of all information.Supervise contractors and other staff by prioritizing and assigning tasks, conducting performance evaluations, calculating pay, and overseeing hiring, discipline, and termination processes.Provide information to property owners and stakeholders and serve as a liaison to the public to support effective project communication and operations.Additional duties may include hauling gravel and snow removal via the operation and maintenance of tandem trucks.
