We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Bilingual Logistics Supervisor to manage and coordinate the transportation of food production operations. In this critical role, you will work closely with the operations and production teams to ensure timely deliveries, optimize schedules, and uphold the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Planning & Scheduling: Oversee the coordination of transportation for food processing to avoid plant downtime, ensuring efficient use of driver and loader hours for optimal performance.
· Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and train drivers and loaders on best practices, company policies, and safety standards to promote high performance and a culture of continuous improvement.
· Daily Operations: Supervise and manage daily operational tasks, including route and vehicle assignments, pick-ups, and deliveries. Conduct visits to ensure proper loading practices and adherence to safety protocols.
· Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs for hourly team members, ensuring ongoing education, job rotation, and safety certification to enhance skills and knowledge.
· Safety & Compliance: Maintain up-to-date safety and compliance documentation, including vehicle registrations, inspections, and necessary audits. Schedule and monitor vehicle maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
· Logistics Support: Manage logistics support activities, including the procurement of transportation supplies, processing of live haul driver payroll, and ensuring accuracy in inbound and outbound weigh slips.
· Biosecurity & Animal Welfare: Enforce biosecurity and animal welfare practices, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to management and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
· Operational Excellence: Address and report equipment damage, safety issues, or food safety-related concerns as they arise. Maintain consistent attendance and uphold company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
· Bilingual proficiency (Spanish) is required.
· Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in live haul transportation or a related field within the food industry.
· CDL Class A license preferred; valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and operational processes.
· Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks with exceptional attention to detail.
· Experience with live haul transportation equipment and proficiency in basic computer applications (Excel, Outlook).
· Flexibility to work off-hour shifts as required and commitment to adhering to company policies and safety standards.
