Job Summary:
This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and consistency of our products throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead all configuration management (CM) activities, ensuring compliance with business policies, industry standards, and best practices. Strong candidates will have excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. They will develop new, or improve existing, processes relevant to CM as well as be responsible to oversee, or participate in, the maintenance and/or correction of existing product data.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the configuration control process, including change management, status accounting, and audits.
- Ensure all configuration management activities comply with industry standards such as SAE EIA-649B, ISO 10007, and AS9100 Rev D.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to maintain product configuration integrity across systems (i.e. ERP, PDM, SW repository).
- Manage the Product Data Management (PDM) database and ensure accurate documentation of product configurations.
- Conduct regular configuration audits and reviews to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on configuration management processes, tools, and standards.
- Lead the resolution of configuration-related issues and discrepancies.
- Prepare and present configuration management reports to senior management.
- Serves as a SME & POC for change processes (engineering, manufacturing, etc.).
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS in engineering or a related field
- 4 years of previous configuration management experience in a highly regulated industry (i.e. aerospace, medical, nuclear, etc.)
Minimum Competencies:
- Familiar with applying configuration management standards such as EIA-649, ISO 10007, or MIL-HDBK-61
- Proficient in administration of corporate configuration control software.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools and software.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and systems engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong experience with SolidWorks PDM (i.e. implementing complex workflows) and integrating with other systems (i.e. ERP).
- CMII certification
- Experience architecting compliant, logical, efficient workflows for Aerospace configuration management.
Preferred Competencies:
- Knowledgeable creating complex product structures for parts, drawings, and assemblies
- Experience reviewing drawings for compliance to Y14.5 (GD&T Standard).
- Proactive and able to anticipate potential configuration issues.
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex projects.
Operational Details / Work Environment
- This is a 1st shift role in an office environment working mostly at a desk with a computer for extended periods of time.
- May require occasional visits to the manufacturing floor, test facilities, or other Kaney facilities (Rockford, IL or Dayton, OH).
Work Authorization / Security Clearance:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Salary : $68,000 - $100,000
