What are the responsibilities and job description for the Configuration Management Lead position at Vogrinc Search Group?
The Configuration Management Leader is responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the configuration control of documents within the company wide data repository. The Configuration Management Leader ensures that configuration control and approval policies are followed. Data maintained within the repository includes but is not limited to: CAD models, drawings, software, part data, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Export Control Classification(s), company policies, company records, and work instructions. This role requires rigorous attention to detail and strong, proactive inter-department communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the configuration control process, including change management, status accounting, and audits.
- Ensure all configuration management activities comply with industry standards such as SAE EIA-649B, ISO 10007, and AS9100 Rev D.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to maintain product configuration integrity across systems (i.e. ERP, PDM, SW repository).
- Manage the Product Data Management (PDM) database and ensure accurate documentation of product configurations.
- Conduct regular configuration audits and reviews to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on configuration management processes, tools, and standards.
- Lead the resolution of configuration-related issues and discrepancies.
- Prepare and present configuration management reports to senior management.
- Serves as a SME & POC for change processes (engineering, manufacturing, etc.).
KEYS TO THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 4 years of previous configuration management experience in a highly regulated industry (i.e. aerospace, medical, nuclear, etc.).
- Familiar with applying configuration management standards such as EIA-649, ISO 10007, or MIL-HDBK-61.
- Proficient in administration of corporate configuration control software.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools and software.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and systems engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency
- Strong experience with SolidWorks PDM (i.e. implementing complex workflows) and integrating with other systems (i.e. ERP) preferred
- CMII certification preferred
- Experience architecting compliant, logical, efficient workflows for Aerospace configuration management preferred.
Salary : $70,000 - $100,000
