We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting/Office Assistant to provide support in both accounting and general office operations. This role involves assisting with various office and accounting tasks, including payroll management, bookkeeping, maintaining office records, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and able to multitask effectively in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, process payroll in a timely manner, and support payroll reporting as needed.
- Organize and maintain office files and documents, ensuring easy access and accuracy for both accounting and HR purposes.
- Create, update, and verify employee and office records for completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and office events.
- Address office-related issues and inquiries promptly to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Act as receptionist when needed, answering phone calls and greeting visitors.
- Perform other office tasks as assigned to ensure efficient office operation.
Skills:
- Proven experience as an office assistant, accounting assistant, or in a related role.
- Familiarity with accounting processes, payroll systems, and basic bookkeeping.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and accounting software such as quickbooks.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask effectively and work well under pressure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
- 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting, office assistance, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the back office in Jericho, NY 11753 for this job.
- Must be willing to occasionally travel to other locations within 25 miles of the headquarters.
