Assistant Director – Kangaroo Clubhouse
Position Overview:The Assistant Director shares responsibility with the Director for managing the overall operations of the child care center. This includes staff recruitment and development, policy and program management, curriculum oversight, child safety, and ensuring compliance with accreditation, licensing, and Kangaroo Clubhouse policies.
Role and Responsibilities
Delivering High-Quality Service
- Uphold and model the culture, mission, vision, and core values of Kangaroo Clubhouse.
Maintaining Strong Relationships
- Facilitate communication among staff, parents, and children to address learning and behavioral concerns.
- Maintain professionalism and respect when communicating with current and prospective parents.
Site Management
- Identify staffing needs, adjust schedules to address shortages or overages, and ensure adequate coverage.
- Plan and organize monthly staff meetings in collaboration with the Management Team.
- Oversee facility safety, cleanliness, and maintenance, ensuring all environments meet health, safety, and security standards.
- Partner with the recruitment and enrollment specialist to maintain a 95% enrollment rate.
- Assist with marketing and advertisements, including providing videos, pictures, and reels for promotional content.
Process Management
- Foster a collaborative team environment by supporting new ideas, encouraging input, and facilitating communication and conflict resolution among staff.
- Contribute to updates and edits for the Employee Handbook, Parent Handbook, and Training Manuals.
- Ensure the implementation of the Teaching Strategies curriculum and oversee teacher updates of student records and portfolios.
- Develop and maintain procedures for handling illnesses, accidents, and emergencies.
- Support a Christian and play-based curriculum.

- Ensure a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that fosters children's emotional, physical, intellectual, and social development.
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state child care laws, local regulatory agencies, and licensing requirements.
- Business management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution and crisis management.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Forms, Canva, and PowerPoint (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including percentages and proportions.
Certifications & Requirements
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Boise City Child Care License.
- Criminal History Background Check.
- Completion of Idaho Stars training hours in accordance with Kangaroo Clubhouse requirements.
Working Conditions & Expectations
- Must be professional when interacting with staff, families, students, and external stakeholders.
- May be required to work outside of standard business hours (7 AM - 6 PM, Monday - Friday), including evenings and weekends for training, conferences, and special events.
- Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
- Must have reliable transportation for work-related travel between locations.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Other Duties
- Maintain requirements for Idaho Stars and other quality assurance programs as determined by the Owner of KC.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
