Duties And Responsibilities
- Will perform the work of secure communication system technical operator within the Render Safe / Emergency Response programs to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
- In a team or independent capacity, coordinate or perform training of various communication systems to include the planning, execution, and after-action reporting. May develop and present training curriculum to external personnel.
- Provide guidance and leadership to team members when performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of communication systems to maintain a 100% readiness state.
- Set-up and establish secure communication systems in remote locations with little to no outside assistance.
- Identify, recommend, propose innovative solutions, and implement changes to various communication systems because of experience and expertise in the field.
- Lead role in implementing development of all required communication systems under the direction for NNSA Emergency Response programs.
- Ensure effective internal / external customer relationships are established and maintained between multiple organizations including international.
- Lead initiatives to maintain technical currency through outside studies and training.
- Will mentor and coach others within the organization on strategic/secure communication development activities.
- Directly assists resource and program management on special assignments and projects involving a wide variety of complex technical or operational improvement functions, and develops, coordinates, and directs the implementation of special technical or operational management initiatives.
- Recommends new approaches, and implement new procedures to effect continual improvements within the department to assure cost-effective operations.
- Will represent resource/program management, as directed, in meetings or appropriate functions. May act as a direct customer interface on assigned projects.
- May require travel up to 40% of the time and able to fill a watch bill position (on call).
- 5 years minimum technical experience with various communication systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline and two years of similar experience in lieu of 8 years of experience with secure communication systems.
- US citizen and possess or qualify for a DOE Q/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
- 3 additional years of experience for a total of 8 years technical experience with various communication systems.
- Articulate and comfortable with direct interaction with senior management and demonstrates ability to influence high-level decision makers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build credibility as a "peer" with all functions.
- Have a general understanding of national mission forces.
