What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piano Accompanist Secondary Schools 00334 position at Kansas City Public Schools?
To Work with the conductor/teacher in providing a quality choir experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform piano accompaniments for choir while following the Conductor at a difficulty comparable to that in state high school competition.
- Practice accompaniments, if necessary, outside of the work day and without compensation.
- Perform accuratley 2, 3 and 4 parts in tempo as required during rehearsal.
- Be available to accompany nights and weekends for additional compensation at the hourly rate.
- Work with the conductor/teacher in providing a quality choir experience in rehearsal and concert settings.
SUPERVISORY QUALIFICATIONS: None
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED certificate.
- Read music fluently in four parts.
- Professional or semiprofessional performance experience.
- Must have own transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA Degree in Music.
- Previous accompanist experience in schools.
