The Senior Vice Provost reports directly to the Provost and serves as the Chief Student Affairs Officer, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the KCU student experience. This role ensures excellence, empathy, and equity in student engagement, success, and support while advocating for students at the highest institutional levels. The Vice Provost develops, implements, and maintains best practices for student services, including student affairs, counseling services, learning enhancement, and success programming. This position provides operational direction and administrative oversight for multiple departments, ensuring quality programs and services for the Office of Student Services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Leadership and Oversight: Ensure effective engagement, administrative oversight, and operational direction for Student Services, including Students of Concern, student disciplinary processes, Counseling Services, Learning Enhancement, campus Student Affairs, Disability Services, and the Senior Vice Provost’s support team.
- Staff Development: Coach, mentor, and advise staff to foster excellence, professional growth, collaborative team dynamics, and a focus on student development.
- Comprehensive Support: Develop mentoring programs for all KCU students across degree programs and campuses.
- Crisis Management: Serve as the point person for student crises.
- Student Conduct and Professionalism: Oversee student conduct and professionalism and related issues, in coordination with the Legal and Compliance administrators, as applicable
- ADA Compliance: Oversee Section 504 Coordinator for students, including the accommodations process to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Policy Development: Create, refine, and implement policies for students.
- Academic Support: Partner with College Deans to support students at academic risk and provide guidance for student concerns related to clinical and clerkship experiences. Advise and approve student leave requests under established protocols to enhance opportunities for success.
- Departmental Leadership: Lead direct reports to oversee programs, services, events, and activities for all students while fostering a positive work environment.
- Budget Management: Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources responsibly, ensuring adherence to university best practices.
- Operational Improvements: Enhance departmental efficiencies and standardize policies.
- Representation: Represent the university in alignment with KCU’s Strategic Plan, Mission, Vision, Core Values, and expectations.
- Committees and Collaboration: Serve on key committees, including the President’s Cabinet and University Council, and work closely with Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management, and other university departments.
- Student Success Committee: Chair the university student success committee, as applicable, to drive impactful initiatives.
- Education: Master’s degree; advanced degree holders are encouraged to apply.
- Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in higher education, with progressive responsibility in areas like Admissions, Student Development, Student Affairs, or Registrar.
- At least 4 years in a supervisory leadership role
- Preferred experience working with graduate-level professional students
