What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Scheduler position at Kansas City Urology Care?
KCUC is a large urology, oncology and radiation private medical practice seeking a Medical Office Specialist to work in our Plaza office. The ideal candidate will be a good cultural fit who is responsible for ensuring efficient flow of clinic through scheduling for our busy providers clinic. You need to have good phone skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and prioritize based on the needs of the moment. This position will facilitate scheduling, check-out, as well as check-in practices here as well. There is travel included with this role, all travel is located within the KC Metropolitan area.
As a Medical Office Scheduler, you will be integral to the efficient operation of our healthcare facility, providing essential administrative support and ensuring a seamless patient experience. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will utilize your core skills in medical office experience and patient service to manage appointment scheduling and maintain medical records.

Demonstrates courtesy and professional relationship towards patients, their family members, KCUC staff members and other individuals that come into the office.
Check patients in for clinic: verifying that all insurance information is correct in a timely manner. Update all patient demographics and insurance cards each time the patient comes into the office. Inform patients of financial arrangements for outstanding balances. Schedule appointments for patients returning to clinic and walk up patients.
Responsible for all money received, to include cash payments and give correct change out of petty cash, and close out the daily deposit. Collect appropriate co-payments, payment authorizations, and outstanding balances. Collect appropriate amounts for self-pay patients.
Needs to be alert to perform job duties.
Maintains cleanliness of work area and lobby; stocks assigned areas and ensures appropriate levels of supplies are maintained and alerts management when supplies need to be ordered.
