The position (K0227120)
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has a Workforce Systems Coordinator opening. This position is with the Bureau of Family Health and will be fully remote—the selected candidate will be required to live in the state of Kansas. The incumbent in this role will coordinate state support of the child care workforce.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate and support the early childhood workforce statewide by working with state administrators, local communities and community partners, and others to assist in overseeing state and federal funds supporting the early childhood workforce. This may include funds and programs related to Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF), Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV), Title V Maternal Child Health, Preschool Development Grant, State General Funds and more. This position will oversee an annually developed and maintained fiscal map of federal and state funding efforts to the Kansas early childhood workforce.
Provide coordination for system-level workforce teams (i.e., Cape team, MIECHV workforce cohort, Workforce Development Advisory Group, etc.) and ensure accountability for system-wide workforce initiatives to meet quality benchmarks in the All-In for Kansas Kids Strategic Plan. This will include assisting and coordinating the identification of strategies in partnership with the Child Care Zones Coordinator for the agency's local child care and other early childhood grant efforts.

Qualifications
- Education:
- High School, GED
- Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit. Education in Child Development, Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Social Services, Business or a related field may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Education, Social Services, Business, or Accounting.
- Experience working in a high-volume telephone environment.
- Knowledge of computer database programs and experience in data entry.
- Internal and external communication skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of good customer service with a diverse group of people.
- Organizational and time management skills with high volume workload.
- Fiscal/Grant management.
- Proofreading, editing, attention to detail.
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
