Location: Athletics Department
Overview: The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach will help teach, coach, and recruit student-athletes
for Kansas Wesleyan University's men's soccer team. This position also includes managing the
reserve team and supporting the overall success of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching/Coaching (50%): Coach student-athletes during practice and competitions, use
- Recruiting (30%): Identify and recruit potential players, track recruitment activities, and
- Administration (15%): Assist with student-athlete eligibility and academic monitoring,
- Other Duties (5%): Complete required reports, assist with other tasks assigned by the
Supervision: Reports to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach.
Work Schedule: Full-time, flexible schedule around practices, competitions, and recruiting. Some
travel required.
Performance Goals:
- Maintain roster size and achieve recruitment targets.
- Ensure athletic success, with the team ranking well in the conference.
- Foster engagement with the campus, community, and alumni.
- Support student-athlete welfare and maintain a positive environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Certifications: First Aid/CPR, NAIA Champions of Character course, and Bloodborne
- Experience: Minimum of one year coaching and recruiting experience; collegiate coaching
- Skills: Strong teamwork, organization, and alignment with the university's mission.
