Capital Projects Estimator

A Houston area capital project group is currently looking for one Project Estimating Engineer to join the Capital project team

This position, within the Capital Project Group will provide cost estimating services to support capital projects. The individual will support and assist Project Engineer, and Project managers to develop and implement estimating plans for capital projects, assist in developing reviewing and maintaining estimating databases for future project use.

Job Description
This Project Estimator will provide cost estimating services to support capital projects. The individual will support and assist Project Engineer and Project managers to develop and implement estimating plans for capital projects. Successful candidate will be also assist in developing estimating databases and template for future project use.

Job Location – Baytown, TX

Job Duration– Long Term Full Time

Job Schedule – 4×10 with full Benefits

Key roles and responsibilities include:
– Support project engineers, and project managers to develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates for capital projects from Phase 1 to Phase 4 of the project from rough order of magnitude of ± 30% through appropriation of ±10%
– Perform bid analysis for service contracts
– Develop estimating to validate supplier pricing and construction FCOs
– Evaluate alternatives and assist in developing alternative estimate during conceptual planning of Phase 1 and 2
– Assist in the development project estimating processes and procedures and continues improvement of Project cost estimating and cost control.

Qualifications –
Required:
– BS Degree in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Mathematics and at least 5 years of direct professional experience as Project Capital Estimator.
– Ability to work in team environment and good communication skills
– Working knowledge of estimating capital projects engineering, procurement, accounting, and construction practices gained from minimum of 5 years of direct experience.
– Strong Analytical skills
– Excellent computer skills

– NO Sponsorships, Must be a US Citizen or Legal Green card Holder

– Advance Microsoft Excel User and proficient in Access database
– Excellent quality orientation and attention to detail

Preferred:
– Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance, and Project Systems

• Knowledge of ICARUS

– Certified AACEI Cost Engineer
– 5 years previous experience in EPC project estimating.
