What You’ll Do
Econometric Modeling for Business Cycle Analysis
- Develop and improve models that assess key economic variables (e.g., GDP growth, inflation, unemployment) and their effects on the business.
- Provide regular updates on the model’s performance and provide insights into the business cycle stage.
- Use econometric models to forecast the performance of portfolios tied to specific industries.
- Assess how different industries are performing within the macroeconomic environment and how those trends affect Kapitus’ book.
- Analyze trends in bank lending, including data on loan issuance, interest rates, and lending volumes.
- Provide insights into how the rise of alternative lending platforms is affecting market dynamics and Kapitus’ position in the industry.
- Respond to additional analytical needs from the team.
- Assist in synthesizing data into actionable insights.
- Use R to analyze data related to the alternative lending market, competitor activities, and Kapitus’ portfolio performance.
- Build and refine econometric models to predict market trends and inform decision-making.
- Work with the team to create forecasts based on industry trends and macroeconomic factors.
- Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of assigned projects, including actionable insights and recommendations.
- Comfort with using R for data analysis, including the ability to manipulate datasets, perform statistical tests, and create models.
- Experience with or understanding of econometric models and forecasting techniques. Experience with time-series analysis or financial modeling is a plus.
- Highly analytical mindset, with the ability to understand complex data and derive actionable insights.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to present analysis clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A strong desire to learn about macroeconomic factors, the lending industry, and financial analysis.
- Ability to perform detailed and accurate data analysis, ensuring high-quality results.
- Understanding of macroeconomics, financial services, and portfolio management would be helpful but is not required.
