Overview
The Lead Middleware Administrator is responsible for overseeing the management, performance, and security of middleware technologies and integration solutions. This role requires a hands-on approach to developing task automation using CI/CD pipelines for routine middleware tasks, as well as the ability to lead and manage a small team of diverse middleware administrators. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in agile methodologies and a thorough understanding of Jira, both for Kanban and Scrum boards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of middleware systems and integration solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Develop and implement task automation strategies using CI/CD pipelines to streamline routine middleware tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a small team of middleware administrators, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting best practices in middleware management.
- Collaborate with application and data teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective middleware solutions.
- Utilize Jira to manage project workflows, ensuring effective tracking and reporting of middleware-related tasks within both Kanban and Scrum frameworks.
- Monitor middleware performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate defect resolution to maintain high availability and reliability of middleware systems.
- Establish and enforce middleware standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and security across all middleware environments.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve middleware management practices.
Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 15 years of hands-on experience with middleware technologies and integration solutions, such as IBM WebSphere, Oracle Fusion Middleware, or Apache Camel.
- 5 years of experience managing a team of middleware administrators, with proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- 3 years of experience in developing task automation using CI/CD tools and pipelines for routine middleware tasks.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with agile methodologies, including proficiency in using Jira for project management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in performance tuning of middleware systems.
Compensation
The proposed salary range for this role is $155,000.00 to $170,000.00 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Karsun considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
