Overview
We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the housekeeping team for a short-term rental property with 20 hotel-style units. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the supervisor expected to perform cleaning duties 50% of the time while also managing and guiding the housekeeping team to ensure all guest units and common areas meet high cleanliness standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and experience in hotel or short-term rental cleaning.
Key Responsibilities:Housekeeping Duties (50% of Role)
- Perform daily turnover cleaning of guest units, including:
- Changing and laundering linens and towels
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Restocking guest amenities and supplies
- Maintain common areas (hallways, lobby, stairwells, elevators) to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Assist in deep cleaning tasks as needed.
Supervisory Duties (50% of Role)
- Lead and oversee the housekeeping team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and up to standard.
- Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and quality expectations.
- Conduct regular room and common area inspections to ensure cleanliness and identify any maintenance needs.
- Assign daily cleaning tasks and ensure proper time management for turnovers.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocking when necessary.
- Report any guest complaints, damages, or maintenance issues to management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards for cleaning procedures and chemical handling.
