Summary: The CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator is a full-time employment position. The ideal candidate should be able to program, set up and operate a CNC Lathe.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Sets up, operates, and assists/edits programming of CNC Lathe to perform a combination of machining operations such as facing, turning, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, broaching, knurling metal work pieces to specifications
· Sets up and operates CNC Lathe to complete metal work pieces to specifications
· Reviews set-up sheets and specifications to determine program sequence, set-up operation and dimensions of finished work piece
· Inserts cutting tools/tool holders and positions tools on turret
· Verifies accuracy of machined work piece against blueprints or engineering drawings by measuring cuts with inspection tooling and gages
· Makes adjustments in the program and tooling as needed to achieve correct specification
· Loads bar stock or tubing in feeder tube
· Runs secondary operations on another machine when time allows
· Aids management in scheduling workload to save time
· Trains employees in set up and maintaining quality production standards
· Fills out production paperwork and inspection procedures
· Maintains production completion logs
· Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor
· Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment, tools, gages, and keeps work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
· Complies with company policies and procedures, giving special attention to safety regulations
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or GED
· 3-5 years’ experience programming/operating manual lathes
· Must be able to read blueprints, and hold close tolerances, O.D. grinding a plus
· Preferred: Currently enrolled in an Advanced Certificate or A.A. degree program in Manufacturing Technology (or similar program) at a local community college with at least 9-12 credit hours already completed towards the certificate or degree, maintaining a C Average or better
· Preferred: NCRC Exam Level Silver and four MSSC Certificates (Safety; Manufacturing Processes & Production; Quality Practices & Measurement; Maintenance Awareness); NIMS Level 1 Machining Certification

· None
Hours:
· Training - 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, this position after training will transition to 2nd shift – 2nd shift hours TBD
· Pay: starting at $23.00/hr.
