Kate’s Club’s vision is to create a world in which it’s okay to grieve, and we want you to join us in this work. We are a community for children, families, and young adults experiencing the death of someone important to them. The organization brings people together around grief, creating safe - both in-person and online - educational, recreational and therapeutic spaces designed to help everyone express the emotions that come with such a loss. We are growing our programs to help expand the support of those who are grieving, and we want your help.

Do you have a knack for engaging others?

We are seeking a thoughtful, caring individual who can manage several projects simultaneously. As the Program and Volunteer Coordinator, you will be an integral team member. You will lead our efforts to expand our reach to those who are grieving by coordinating our young adult program, LoKate, and you will lead our efforts to attract and engage a diverse and vibrant group of volunteers. You will also participate in and support our family activities, from membership engagement to program execution.

What you'll do

Volunteer Oversight and Coordination - 45% of the role

Volunteers play an integral role in allowing Kate’s Club to run its programming, and this role will drive the volunteer management program from beginning to end. Whether designing recruitment programs to bring in volunteers, or onboarding new volunteers, or sustaining existing volunteers, your work will involve oversight and coordination to ensure we are staffed appropriately.

LoKate Program Coordinator - 35% of the role

Approximately 20% of young adults ages 18 to 30 have experienced the death of someone important to them. This program offers both in-person and virtual programs to connect with others who know what they are experiencing. You will oversee the growth, implementation, and management of this work.

Support of Programs - 20% of role

All of our programs involve a variety of support, whether participating in the membership intake process by conducting phone interviews or ordering supplies. You will work across the organization to help support this work, along with other responsibilities as they arise.

What you'll bring

  • A love of detail and execution: the ability to track multiple activities while still keeping a focus on the mission of the organization.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience working in a social service or mental health-related field; a bachelor’s degree in a human or social services field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with metro Atlanta social services sectors.
  • A passion for the Kate’s Club mission and an understanding of grief and loss.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and utilize data management and communication platforms.
  • Enthusiasm to elevate Kate’s Club brand and messaging locally and nationally, including presenting to prospective community partners.
  • The ability to work weekends and evenings.
  • A clean driving record and personal auto insurance of $100k per person / $300k per accident / $100k property damage as required by our insurance carrier.

What we offer

  • A flexible hybrid model of work (in our Brookhaven, GA office three days a week and two days remote).
  • A salary range of $42,000 - $45,000 annually.
  • Paid time off, health benefits.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • A strong culture of support and belonging.
  • An unparalleled depth of expertise in grief and bereavement, with recognition for our work at the national level, and a strong strategic vision, with financial support, to continue to build a world in which it’s okay to grieve.

How to apply

Grief does not discriminate. As such, Kate’s Club is committed to building a diverse staff, reflective of the population it serves. We encourage anyone who has a passion for building a world in which it’s okay to grieve to apply, even if your experiences do not line up exactly with those in the position description. Please send your resume, cover letter, and salary requirements to judy.train@katesclub.org. We will begin reviewing submissions on April 7th.
