Warehouse Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary
Kate Weiser Chocolate is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Supervisor to lead our fulfillment team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management and shipping/receiving processes, along with excellent team management skills. This role is critical in ensuring that all shipments are processed efficiently and accurately, contributing to our commitment to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and on-time fulfillment of eCommerce, corporate, and wholesale orders.
• Manage a team of shipping personnel, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity.
• Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accurate stock levels and proper handling of goods.
• Oversee shipping material inventory to prevent stock outs and keep the fulfillment process running smoothly. Recognize patterns and make improvements on types and quantities of materials used.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments and manage logistics effectively.
• Coordinate with e-commerce platforms and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline shipping processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the shipping department.
• Conduct regular training sessions for staff on best practices in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
• Mitigate risk within the shipping process via weather research, carrier delay tracking, and frequent communication with other parties (customer service, freight providers, and supervisor).
• Proactively seek out improvement opportunities within the shipping department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse management or shipping/receiving roles.
• 2 years of on-the-job experience or 2 year degree preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment and operations.
• Solid understanding of computer functions and a willingness to learn new platforms.
• Experience in e-commerce logistics and working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers is preferred.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
• Proficient in inventory control practices to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Forklift certification is a plus; ability to operate forklifts safely is essential.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for much of your shift.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Ability to perform arithmetic.
• High School diploma or equivalent required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
