Oversees field research data collection activities conducted at various military and law enforcement training settings.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESParticipates in all aspects of research to include study design and overseeing, collecting, managing, processing, analyzing, and reporting data.Establishes and maintains relationships with volunteer cohort leadership and other collaborators.Serves as a liaison between research output and stakeholders.Manages human subjects protocol documentation and regulatory files.Maintains regular and punctual attendance.Performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, or related field with relevant work experience (PhD preferred).Experience using SAS, SPSS, Matlab, C, C , C , Java or other programming / statistical language.Must be able to obtain Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) clearance.Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and / or background checks (U.S. citizenship required).DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSExperience in a blast research setting actively involved in study design, or equivalent experience a plus.Military experience is a plus.Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize, problem-solve, and coordinate daily activities to support effective improvement in individual patients.Have strong leadership / management skills and be responsible for directing and guiding research staff and study participants.Demonstrates knowledge, skill, and ability to use basic office automation and information management equipment and programs (i.e., word processing, database management, email, etc.).Communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner with research staff and study participants.Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans / actions, for teaching / education to benefit the patient / family and organization.Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity in accordance with requirements.WORK SCHEDULEFull-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.TRAVELTravel to various research sites within and outside of the United States. Valid passport required. The expected travel time is less than 25%.DRIVING REQUIREMENTSMust have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and / or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed primarily in a clinic setting. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.PHYSICAL DEMANDSBe capable of lifting and moving of equipment weighting up to 30 pounds and withstand prolonged periods of bending, reaching, moving about, or standing. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage.
