We are seeking a motivated and highly skilled IT Technician with strong troubleshooting expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware and software, providing technical support to end-users, administering a Mitel phone system and ensuring the optimal performance of IT systems. The ideal candidate will have open availability between 8 : 00 AM – 8 : 00 PM Monday – Friday, as well as availability from 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM on Saturdays (every 3-4 weeks rotation based on business needs).

Responsibilities :

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues for desktops, laptops, and other peripheral devices.
  • Provide in-person, remote, and over-the-phone technical support to end-users for both hardware and software problems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair common issues such as system crashes, slow performance, and connectivity problems.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and upgrading of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software.
  • Conduct system maintenance, data backups, and software updates to ensure security and optimal performance.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Provide timely solutions and recommendations to clients to prevent future issues.
  • Manage and document service requests through the company’s ticketing system.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Assist with the configuration and setup of new IT equipment for clients or internal teams.
  • Manage users in a phone system and diagnose end user system phone problems.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities) : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and / or ability required.

  • Education and / or Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in customer service (preferably in a call-center environment).
  • Proven experience as a PC Technician, IT Support Specialist, or similar role with a focus on troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and basic networking principles (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing computer hardware components such as motherboards, hard drives, and peripherals.
  • Experience with installing, updating, and troubleshooting various software applications and drivers.
  • Familiarity with basic network configurations, including wireless and wired network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think on your feet in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or equivalent are preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is a plus.
  • Other Qualifications : Willingness to perform any required task within the employee’s capabilities to effectively meet the needs of the company.  Ability to get along well with others.
  • Physical Demands : The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk and listen.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 20 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job the environment is generally climate controlled.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
