Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Five years of successful salary/compensation experience
Ability to manage personnel
Knowledge of wage, salary and FMLA laws
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Primary Purpose:
Will work under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the management of the district-wide salary administration program; including salary and budget estimates. Also responsible for counseling employees on retirement matters, policies and procedures, and salary concerns.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calculate, monitor, and update salaries for employees.
- Responsible for verifying service records and authenticating photocopied documents relating to employees.
- Assist the Chief of Human Resource Officer with salary budget preparations and forecasting.
- Work collaboratively with the budget department in creating salary and benefit projections and the costing of vacancies.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the annual teacher salary schedule, non-teacher pay ranges, and stipend schedules.
- Responsible for all new year salary, accrual, stipend, years of service and state step updates and review.
- Oversight of the HR PEIMS Fall/Spring reporting.
- Responsible for calculating the annual costs for additional staffing units and reclassifications.
- Monitor and assist with FMLA/KISD leave calculations.
- Ensure that district policies, procedures and practices comply with the relevant federal and state laws and regulations, and assist district employees with questions about these matters.
- Oversight of the district’s 403 (b) and 457 (b) plans and counsel employees on retirement-related matters.
- Work in collaboration with Human Resources Administrators.
- Use management practices that promote collegiality, teamwork, and collaborative decision making among staff.
- Administer the exempt an non-exempt compensation programs and ensure compliance with federal wage and overtime laws.
- Responsible for the oversight and submission of all monthly, quarterly, and annual salary reports (New Hire, dept of Labor, PARS (quarterly & annual), EE0-5, and TEC Wage Report.
- Oversight of the contract and staffing (position control) areas.

Enhance interdepartmental relations.

Work in collaboration with our contracted auditing teams (July and December).

Maintain all salary, job class, pay type, and location table in the salary management system
- Other duties as assigned.

Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
