Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Instructional and curriculum training or teaching experience
Experience as a Learning Management System (LMS) administrator, course designer or similar position
Experience supporting users, troubleshooting and resolving LMS issues
Knowledge of instructional design models
Ability to forecast and provide solutions to the configuration of the Learning Management System
Working knowledge of Web-design technologies
Displays good analysis and problem-solving skills, accurately analyzes a situation and utilizes creative problem-solving
Strong organizational, project time management and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, team collaboration, and exhibits a positive attitude
Expertise in Office 365, Google Drive, Adobe CC and additional cloud-based applications
Primary Purpose:
This role will manage course design, help inquiries, and course development in the Learning Management System (LMS). This Specialist will collaborate with the team on support documents and configuration of the LMS. This role will work with subject matter experts to develop courses to support multiple learning styles. This role will monitor and review the LMS to ensure optimal performance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

- Offers assistance and support to all users of the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Creates and provides specific help procedures and documentation.
- Works on assignments dealing with the routine and daily operation, use, and configuration of the Canvas LMS.
- Identifies and communicates opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, information to support the end-users, suggested enhancements, and project time management.
- Analyzes and applies trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
- Analyzes data and recommends solutions to utilize the LMS to deliver, track training and measure performance to meet organizational objectives.
- Creates and updates resources to support learners on best practices.
- Monitors and updates new releases and reports to the LMS team.
- Oversees the timeline of dates regarding the configuration of the LMS.
- Manages the LMS data imports and QA prior to the start of each semester.
- Provides support to our LMS end-users by managing/monitoring the Canvas support ticket center (answering/solving support tickets put in by end-users).
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues relating to system functionality and software systems.
- Works with the instructional technology staff to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to accessing the LMS and course content.
- Writes and maintains technical procedures and documentation.
- Maintains and monitors the custom scripts within the LMS.
- Reviews and monitors system performance.
Course Development: (NEW)
- Maintains accessibility standards in all courses.
- Possesses knowledge, certifications, or degree in course design that includes industry standard use of graphics, interactive content, and simulations for desktop and mobile.
- Implements course development standards to enhance the learning process to meet the needs of learners
- Works with subject matter experts to identify student learning needs.
- Advises on different methods to assess students online.
- Creates engaging age-appropriate learning activities, media and interactive course content.
- Evaluates and provides input on assessments within each course.
- Maintains project documentation.
- Possesses basic HTML skills.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
- Enhances coursework to assist learners with disabilities so that they are able to experience the same learning opportunities as others.
- Possesses the ability to write effectively, and provide instructional text, audio and video scripts.
- Supports existing courses (corrects issues, enhances existing content).
- Continually evaluates and improves implemented learning and knowledge solutions.
