What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wire Cutter position at Kauffman Engineering, LLC?
Summary:
Set up and/or operate wire cutting machines equipped with PLC (programmable logic computer) controls. The setup of the machines and equipment is determined by the specifications and requirements of each job order. Multiple set ups and/or changes are routinely necessary throughout a normal operating shift.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for adhering to all safety regulations.
· Responsible for maintaining an orderly, efficient, and tidy work area.
· Mechanically set up cutting machines by adjusting and or replacing terminal applicators and other such equipment as necessary while adhering to required safety procedures.
· Install proper color/gauge wire, proper terminals, set machines to cut and/or strip the wire to the correct length. Adjust terminal application process as necessary to ensure terminals are properly seated to the wire.
· Perform initial checks to ensure the wire is being cut properly. This includes first piece checks, visually and otherwise check to ensure the terminals is being applied correctly. Monitor the performance of the machine and/or equipment and inspect parts throughout the entire production run.
· Must be able to do re-work of various parts and assemblies as required by customers or directed by supervisor.
· Must be able to adapt quickly and accurately to changing production demands.
· Responsible for maintain all company required records on a daily shift basis.
· Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, perform moderate to heavy lifting of at least 35#, bending and stooping, work in warm/hot temperatures and perform repetitive tasks and use of tools.
Qualifications/Education/Experience and Abilities:
· Qualifications: Individuals must be able to perform each essential function listed above in a satisfactory manner.
· Experience: Technical training, mechanical background, prior machine set up experience preferred.
· Mathematical: Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to use micrometer and scales.
· Reasoning: Ability to resolve production problems by performing common analysis to determine root causes and assist in development of a workable solution.
· Physical: The ability to stand for long periods of time, perform moderate to heavy lifting of at least 35#, bending and stooping, work in warm/hot temperatures, perform repetitive tasks and use of tools.
