Bookkeeper

At Kaufman & Gumnic, LLP, we're seeking a skilled bookkeeper to join our team.

Job responsibilities will include:

• Maintain financial transaction records by establishing accounts and posting transactions.
• Downloading bank, credit card, and payroll activity into QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online using the bank feeds module.
• Manually keypunching business activity into QuickBooks if online access is not available.
• Reconciling clients' bank accounts, credit card accounts, and payroll, on a monthly basis.
• Candidate will be responsible for managing roughly 75 accounts and keeping them current throughout the year.
• Develop and/or maintain an accurate chart of accounts.
• Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
• Prepare financial statements, such as ledgers, income statements, and balance sheets.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize data to prepare year end 1099 forms.

Qualifications and skills:

• Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with using the bank feeds module of QuickBooks and setting up rules to enhance efficiency.
• Efficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and other office suite products.
• A general understanding of the main accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.
• Ability to work as a team and in a fast-paced environment.
• Preparing a trial balance for accountants to review

Education and requirements:

• 4 years of previous bookkeeping experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
