The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for managing and fostering positive employee relations across the healthcare facility. This role involves addressing and resolving employee concerns, promoting a healthy workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies. The Employee Relations Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to both management and employees, providing guidance on performance issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required : Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Preferred : Bachelor's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
Experience :
Required : Proven experience in conflict resolution, performance management, and conducting investigations.
Preferred : At least 5 years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or a similar role, with a focus on healthcare settings.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong knowledge of labor laws, healthcare regulations, and industry best practices.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion, tact, and professionalism.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Serves as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding workplace issues, concerns, and conflicts.
Conducts investigations into employee complaints or grievances and recommends resolutions in line with company policies.
Provides guidance to management on effective employee communication, conflict resolution, and maintaining a respectful workplace.
Ensures that the healthcare facility complies with all applicable labor laws, employment standards, and organizational policies.
Reviews, updates, and implements employee-related policies to ensure alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices.
Advises leadership on changes in labor laws and regulations, making recommendations to mitigate risk.
Collaborates with managers to address performance issues, including developing improvement plans and offering coaching support.
Ensures fair and consistent application of performance management processes, promoting employee accountability and growth.
Facilitates resolution of workplace conflicts and disputes through mediation, coaching, and appropriate disciplinary actions.
Manages and resolves complaints related to harassment, discrimination, and other workplace concerns.
Supports initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement, ensuring employees feel valued and heard.
Analyzes employee feedback and trends to develop programs aimed at improving retention and morale.
Provides training to managers and staff on conflict resolution, communication, performance management, and compliance matters.
Promotes a culture of continuous learning and development through the delivery of employee relations-related training.
Maintains accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases, investigations, and actions taken.
Prepares reports for senior management on trends, issues, and outcomes of employee relations cases.
