Job Title: Safety and Production Supervisor
Department: Human Resource Department
Reports To: Sr. HR manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-certified HR Safety Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance while also managing employee relations, ensuring the well-being of all employees, and supporting the onboarding process. The HR Safety Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace, addressing employee concerns, ensuring effective communication, and assisting with the integration of new employees into the company. As part of this role, confidentiality is paramount in handling sensitive employee and safety-related information.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Management:

  • Ensure adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Lead and organize safety training programs to improve employee awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, ensuring thorough documentation and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives to enhance workplace safety culture and reduce incidents.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety procedures throughout the workplace.

HR Employee Relations:

  • Act as a liaison between employees and management to address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on workplace policies, labor laws, and employee rights.
  • Mediate and resolve employee disputes, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Support and implement employee engagement initiatives aimed at improving morale and productivity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company-wide HR policies and procedures related to safety and employee relations.

Onboarding Process:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires by ensuring they complete all necessary paperwork, safety training, and orientation sessions.
  • Educate new employees on safety policies, protocols, and the company’s culture during the onboarding process.
  • Conduct safety training as part of the new hire orientation to ensure all employees are aware of and adhere to company safety standards.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure that new employees are integrated smoothly into the workplace while following all safety and HR procedures.
  • Ensure new employees understand their responsibilities concerning workplace safety, employee rights, and company policies.

Confidentiality and Data Protection:

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in handling sensitive employees and safety-related information.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies when managing employee records, injury reports, and other confidential documents.
  • Safeguard the privacy of employees and uphold trust within the organization by strictly adhering to confidentiality protocols.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to safety audits, training, employee injuries, and safety violations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required to maintain compliance with EHS standards.
  • Ensure the company meets all legal requirements related to workplace safety and employee relations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and recommend improvements to workplace safety practices and employee relations strategies.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement action plans for addressing any identified safety concerns or employee relations issues.

Training & Development:

  • Provide ongoing safety training and development programs to ensure compliance with current regulations and enhance employee safety awareness.
  • Stay current with changes in safety regulations and employee relations trends, ensuring the company is compliant with all new laws and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Occupational Safety, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is required.
  • 3 years of experience in safety and HR role, including expertise in both employee relations and safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices for workplace safety.
  • Proven experience handling employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and communication strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR software systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
