Job Summary
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs that ensure compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards. This role involves collaborating with various departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship while minimizing risks associated with occupational health hazards. The EHS Manager will also be tasked with conducting training sessions, managing incident investigations, and ensuring adherence to OSHA and EPA guidelines.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with workers' compensation law.
- Provide training on first aid, CPR, and other safety protocols to employees.
- Investigate workplace incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safe working environment through effective communication and training initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance activities.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to occupational health and environmental safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience in EHS management or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, EPA guidelines, and general safety practices.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR; additional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to fabricate solutions for unique safety challenges within the workplace.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.
- Proficient in using EHS management software and tools for data tracking and reporting.
