ENVIRONMENTAL/HEALTH/SAFETY MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Environmental:
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local regulations relating to hazardous materials.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining management information systems which identify the location of hazardous material in all facilities.
- Updating and delivering employee training programs related to hazardous materials and waste.
- Supervising work of outside contractors involved in removing or testing hazardous materials.
- Investigate employee complaints concerning exposure to hazardous materials or air pollutants.
- Maintaining operation and inspection logs.
- Recommending and coordinating the development of programs needed to comply with hazardous materials regulations.
- Disseminating Right-to-Know information.
Health & Safety:
Responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment, and environments to achieve safety effectiveness for the company and establish a results-based wellness program.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- The candidate should demonstrate a working knowledge of safety rules and regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local.
- The candidate should also show an ability, through demonstrated experience, to accomplish the following: conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with occupational and environmental health and safety requirements; develop, implement and maintain employee training programs; establish and maintain complete safety and training records; and develop, update and manage workplace safety programs, procedures and policies.
- The candidate must have demonstrated computer skills, including a proficiency in using common word processing software, spreadsheet software, database applications, project and presentation software, and email, and scheduling software.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining an incentive-based wellness program for all employees.
- Help with administration of company's Quality ISO system.
Educational Background:
- The ideal candidate should have Associate's or Bachelor's degree in safety management, occupational environment health and safety, or a related field.
- Experience and knowledge of environmental and occupational health and safety, along with an established track record of success, may be considered as a substitute for the educational requirements.
