Planner

KBK Industries, LLC, a leading manufacturer of high quality fiberglass and steel storage tanks is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our team at the Liberal, Kansas facility. The Production Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations, timely order fulfillment, and optimal inventory levels. This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, along with the ability to collaborate with production, procurement, transportation and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop, maintain and adjust production schedules to meet customer orders and optimize plant capacity.
• Coordinate with production supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and minimize bottlenecks.
• Monitor work orders, adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines and production goals.
• Work with sales and customer service teams to provide accurate lead times and delivery estimates.
• Develop and maintain month to month revenue forecasts to meet plant goals and financial expectations.

Inventory and Material Management

• Collaborate with procurement to ensure steel and components are available for production.
• Monitor inventory levels, ensuring alignment with production needs while minimizing excess stock.
• Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to manage finished goods inventory and shipping schedules.

Process Optimization & Efficiency

• Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Implement best practices for scheduling and workflow to minimize waste and downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing and six sigma.

Communication and Coordination

• Acts as a key liaison between production, sales, procurement and logistics teams.
• Provide regular updates on production status, potential delays and capacity constraints.
• Assist in resolving production issues by coordinating across departments.

Reporting and Compliance

• Generate reports on production performance, capacity utilization and schedule adherence.
• Ensure production planning aligns with quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field or Equivalent Experience
• 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in ERP./MRP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
