ABOUT THIS POSITION

Join a diverse team of talented and inspired engineers and analysts developing US Army Air and Missile Defense systems in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Modeling and Simulation Analyst position supports system level Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Verification and Validation (V&V), test and associated analysis activities for the government’s Search, Track, Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office for the Lower Tier and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) M&S models. The analyst will use high-fidelity software to assist in V&V assessments of system capabilities against a variety of world-wide threats. Analytical support will be provided for specific test phases required for fielding Army weapons systems to include pre-flight assessments, ground tests, and post-flight reconstruction. The analyst will provide comparative feedback between the simulation runs and actual test execution to the government as required and provide input on results documented in V&V reports. The analyst will produce and update a V&V plan for test campaigns as needed. The analyst will assist in developing and maintaining data reduction and analysis tools to support the V&V effort. The analyst will support technical interchange meetings, program reviews, and integration and test working groups that help define the path forward of the V&V efforts and will prepare any required material for these meetings. The analyst will be a member of a team working toward the goal of accreditation for the LTAMDS M&S models and will spend a considerable portion of their day in a classified environment.

The ideal candidate should be a problem-solver, resourceful, independently motivated and detail oriented. The position requires good time management and communication skills.

Relocation : This is a full-time, on contractor site position located in Huntsville, AL just outside of Redstone Arsenal Gate 9 in Redstone Gateway. The candidate must be a resident or able to relocate to the area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or applicable STEM degree with 2 years of experience
  • 1 years of experience with Air and Missile Defense (AMD) or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) weapons systems, data analysis, Flight / Ground tests and system modeling & simulation and / or system performance analysis
  • Demonstratable knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), Python, and / or MATLAB
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
  • Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on prescribed schedules
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences or facilitate group discussions and develop accurate written materials to clearly and concisely communicate information
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of program operations requirements
  • Ability to build solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, MATLAB, and / or C / C
  • Demonstratable knowledge of VV&A methodologies, including development of sound testing methods and applicable criteria
  • Understand requirements management and analysis functions, including crosswalks and traceability between M&S and weapon systems
  • M&S design, development, integration, and test experience, with broad based knowledge of space, missile and / or launch systems at the component through system level
  • Demonstrate an understanding of program planning and execution, systems engineering, design processes, weapon system integration, and performance assessment
