JOB OVERVIEW :

The Corporate Senior Accountant is able to perform all aspects of portfolio cash transactions including debt service and stock transactions for a REIT portfolio.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Daily

  • Update and maintain all cash transactions into the REIT cash book
  • Set-up and maintain wire templates in the applicable online banking system.
  • Set-up and maintain waterfall journal entries templates
  • Assist in determining the need for cash draws or availability of cash to invest, and coordinate with supervisor to send request to the bank. Record this cash transaction with a journal entry into the MRI system.
  • Prepare various wires as needed

Weekly

  • Prepare weekly AP check runs in AVID, ensure proper coding of invoices, approvals and preparation of check batch to AVID PAY. Ensure entry is properly recorded in MRI including any necessary waterfall entries.
  • Monthly

  • Record bank interest income and bank fees to the various cost centers with a journal entry into the MRI system. Update the interest income schedule with this information.
  • Verify REIT cash book had been updated completely for the month and print out cash general ledgers to facilitate the bank reconciliation preparation.
  • Formulate accrual estimates for all REIT level general and administrative expenses, update accrual tie-out schedule and record journal entries.
  • Prepare Board of Directors and Asset Management Fee calculations and wires
  • Enter and post Debt Service payments to cash book and MRI
  • Assist with shareholder equity transactions as needed and perform quarterly account reconciliations along with occasional special projects.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education / Certifications :

    Bachelor’s Degree

    Essential :

  • At least three (3) years experience in general office responsibilities and procedures.
  • Preferred :

  • MRI or AVID experience
  • SKILLS :

  • Computer literate.
  • Good writing, analytical and problem‐solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

    Ability to work independently, prioritize duties to ensure timely completion of job duties. Requires active listening, critical thinking making decisions and time management and training skills, as well as administration and management skills. Ability to interact in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

    WORKING CONDITIONS :

    Indoors environmentally controlled; contact with others; face to face discussions.

    Monday to Friday – Business hours. Schedule may vary based on business demands.
