An early-stage biopharmaceutical company is active in their search for a Senior Accounting Manager to join their corporate accounting team. The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing financial processes related to the company’s clinical trial contracts. Reporting to the Controller, this Senior Accounting Manager will lead month-end closing activities, implement process enhancements, and drive operational efficiencies in clinical trial accounting. - Oversee financial tracking of clinical trials, research programs, and vendor agreements, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, accounting, forecasting, and contract specifications.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A and Clinical Operations teams to ensure seamless communication and timely processing of financial data, including accruals.
- Review and prepare key financial documents such as journal entries and reconciliations related to clinical trial prepayments and accruals, maintaining thorough documentation for audit compliance.
- Lead the implementation and utilization of the clinical trial tracking system (Auxilius) for ongoing and future studies.
- Integrate real-time patient-driven data into financial models to improve accuracy and forecasting.
- Partner with FP&A to conduct financial analysis, comparing actuals to budget and forecasts to identify key trends.
- Support the Clinical Operations team by reviewing vendor invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Work directly with auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary support and documentation related to clinical trial accruals.
- Assist with special projects and other finance-related tasks as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA license is preferred
- 7 years of progressive corporate accounting experience
- Experience with clinical trial accounting is required
- Knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as within a team
