We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records related to our real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to prepare and distribute monthly financial statements to internal stakeholders.
- Review, investigate, and resolve errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Provide recommendations on accounting treatment for assets and expenditures.
- Verify and analyze transactions to maintain accurate daily subsidiary accounts tracking.
- Prepare and maintain monthly cash and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Support the coordination of annual reviews and audits, working closely with external auditors.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by management.
- Mentor and assist junior accounting staff, providing guidance as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in property accounting, real estate accounting, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
- Experience with real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar).
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
