What You Will Do:
As a Service Technician II at KCAV, you will deliver technical service and support through onsite troubleshooting, repairs, training, and system commissioning while coordinating with clients, internal teams, and manufacturers. You will also manage documentation, maintain inventory, support installations, assist with quoting, test products, and lead the technical execution of mid-level projects.
Technical Service & Project Execution
- Troubleshoot and repair systems onsite and remotely; perform advanced technical support and commissioning.
- Load system code and firmware; configure systems to meet client specifications.
- Evaluate sites, create BOMs, and collaborate with Design Engineers on documentation and installation preparation.
- Lead technical execution of mid-level projects and support Installation Technicians as needed.
- Assemble, install, and repair equipment per project documentation and specifications.
Client Support & Communication
- Communicate clearly with clients about issues, solutions, and project updates.
- Train clients and stakeholders on AV systems and assess interest in service contracts.
- Coordinate with manufacturers on RMAs and issue resolution.
- Attend job meetings, maintain a professional presence, and travel as required.
Administration, Training & Compliance
- Complete service tickets, track time, assist with quoting, and submit required documentation.
- Test new products, train internal staff, and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain service vehicle and inventory, follow safety protocols, and adhere to company standards and policies.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of AV experience or equivalent technical knowledge
- AVIXA Essentials and CTS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Skilled in reading technical drawings and performing structured AV cabling
- Experience with DSP and control systems, including code loading and configuration
- Proven ability to lead projects, solve problems, and work independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to train clients and direct team members
- Proficient with computers, mobile apps, and basic math for job documentation
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass background and drug screening
