Summary:
Material Handler supports the Materials Management Department. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have some experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Experience picking parts using a scanner and packing parts for shipment required. DOT medical exam required to drive company vehicles. Temporary to a permanent position.
Essential Functions or Responsibilities:
Material Handler supports the Materials Management Department. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have some experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Experience picking parts using a scanner and packing parts for shipment required. DOT medical exam required to drive company vehicles. Temporary to a permanent position.
Essential Functions or Responsibilities:
- Pick and stage materials for production
- Accurately pull parts from pick tickets and stages materials for production.
- Safely operate various pieces of warehouse equipment (Cherry Pickers, Forklifts etc.).
- Assist in physical inventories and cycle counting as directed.
- Communicate issues regarding part discrepancies to the Warehouse Lead
- Safely operates various pieces of warehouse equipment (Forklifts etc.)
- Actively participate as a member of the team to move the team towards completion of goals.
- Takes the initiative to find, identify and propose changes to processes not working well.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- GED or High School Diploma.
- Proficient understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- At least 6 months experience operating a forklift or reach truck.
- Possess strong interpersonal and customer relation skills
- Preferred Working knowledge of MRP or ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must pass background check and drug test
Safety/Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Requires bending, stooping and standing.
- Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. (Overtime may extend the time period.)
- Good visual and spatial perception.
- Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
