Function:
The QMS & Continuous Improvement Leader works closely with leadership and members of all departments within the company to develop and maintain a robust Quality Management System as well as an effective and sustainable Continuous Improvement program; and integrate both into the daily culture of KCC.
Essential Responsibilities:
The QMS & Continuous Improvement Leader works closely with leadership and members of all departments within the company to develop and maintain a robust Quality Management System as well as an effective and sustainable Continuous Improvement program; and integrate both into the daily culture of KCC.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Own the development of KCC’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Continuous Improvement (CI) program and drive the implementation within all sites.
- Perform audits at recurring frequencies to determine the gaps within the current QMS. Then work with department leaders to drive timely and effective Corrective and Preventive Actions to mitigate system risks and implement improvements.
- Identify, assess, communicate, and act on opportunities for improving performance across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with other teams that are engaged in, and responsible for, alternate means of continuous improvement.
- Lead a team of direct reports to assist departments in developing and documenting processes, and guiding CI projects.
- Work closely with all team members to support their professional development and progress toward goals.
- Report to the Director of Quality on metrics, team condition, project status, and situations requiring escalation.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Advanced functional knowledge of statistical principles, calculations, and analysis.
- Ability to effectively educate and coach others.
- Ability to exercise judgment to determine methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Project management skills are a strong plus.
- Personnel management skills including, but not limited to: empathy, trust, patience, flexibility, prioritization, conflict resolution, relationship building, open-mindedness, critical-thinking, and decisiveness.
- Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong personal drive for success.
- Advanced functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or relevant experience in lieu thereof
- 5 years of team leadership experience and project leadership; successful candidates will have a highperformance track record of leading teams to achieving targets.
- 5 years of experience being the site owner of a standard Quality Management System (e.g. ISO, IATF, AS). Experience developing and/or implementing a QMS in a manufacturing organization is a strong plus.
- Lead Auditor Certification is highly preferred.
- Has working knowledge of necessary touch points and successful interconnections between departments of a mid-size manufacturing company.
- Experience in leading the implementation of LEAN principles in a manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Successful candidates will embrace the challenges of advancing a quality culture that is still in the early stages of maturation.
Safety/Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work on ladders or step stools
- Requires bending, stooping and standing.
- Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. (Overtime may extend time period.)
- Good visual and spatial perception.
- Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
