The candidate will lead media strategy, mentor a Senior Beauty Publicist, and ensure impactful press coverage. A strong background in beauty media relations is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Relations & Strategy
· Develop and execute high-impact PR strategies, securing top-tier beauty press placements.
· Cultivate relationships with beauty editors, journalists, and key media professionals to drive brand awareness.
· Lead editorial outreach, feature development, and product placement strategies.
· Oversee seasonal media planning, competitive analysis, and brand positioning efforts.
· Monitor beauty industry trends and media landscape shifts to inform strategy.
· Brainstorm fresh PR campaign ideas, crafting strong media angles and press releases. Client & Account Management
· Serve as the primary client liaison, managing press strategies and media relations execution.
· Guide clients on brand storytelling, editorial strategy, and messaging.
· Identify and pitch strategic media partnerships and collaborations.
· Ensure consistent client communication, reporting, and media performance analysis.
· Partner with senior leadership to expand client accounts and support new business development. Team Leadership & Development
· Lead and mentor a Senior Publicists, overseeing campaign execution.
· Oversee press list management, media tracking, and editorial reporting processes.
· Foster cross-functional collaboration with digital, influencer, and event teams.
· Provide regular updates to agency leadership on media performance and strategy insights. Event & Beauty Industry Press Support
· Oversee media relations for beauty brand events, launches, and activations.
· Manage press strategies for major beauty industry activations.
· Ensure seamless editorial coverage and PR experiences at all press-facing events
· Support additional agency events outside of beauty as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 8 years of experience in media relations or PR, with a focus on beauty, fashion, or lifestyle brands.
· Proven success in securing top-tier beauty press placements and editorial features.
· Strong industry relationships with beauty editors, influencers, and digital media professionals.
· Ability to craft compelling brand narratives and execute impactful media strategies.
· Experience leading teams, mentoring publicists, and managing client accounts.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven mindset.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Launchmetrics preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 8 years in beauty PR, media relations, or communications.
· Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, or Public Relations required.
· Beauty industry experience required.
· Ability to travel frequently (domestic/international) for fashion weeks, industry events, and client activations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
· Proficiency in media tracking and analytics tools (Launchmetrics, Cision, Muck Rack).
· Strong knowledge of editorial strategy, beauty media outreach, and PR reporting.
· Proficiency in event press operations, including media coordination and influencer engagement.
· Advanced Microsoft Office skills for reporting, strategy development, and presentations.
· Familiarity with CRM tools for tracking media relationships and PR partnerships.
